Hannah Vernon, President Hannah is the founder of Joy Comes and is married to her high school sweetheart, Jamie Vernon. They have four children of their own and are an active foster parent family in Anderson, SC. After over ten years of teaching both art and ESOL, Hannah has decided to become a career missionary. She is currently the Community Connections Leader at Turning Point Church in Greenville, SC, and spends her days volunteering at local schools, organizations and managing Joy Comes. Travel, tie dye and adventure are her passions. She feels strongly about serving people in her town and wherever God leads her. Throwing off traditional methods of evangelism, she believes that Christians should look happy, and the best way to find joy is to serve those around you. Hannah is willing to do different things to reach people who need to know how much Jesus loves them. |
Jamie Vernon, Vice President Jamie Vernon is first, and foremost, a husband and a father to four children. His professional career involves being a Quality Engineering Specialist for Abbott and the Worship Leader at Turning Point Church in Greenville, SC. His passions include: music, hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoys ministering to people alongside his wife and kids. Jamie has been involved in ministry for over twenty years. Grateful for his life's journey so far, he looks forward to the awesome things that God is going to do through Joy Comes. |
Leanne McBride, Secretary Leanne McBride was born and raised in Anderson County, SC. She graduated from Pendleton High School and then went on to graduate from Clemson University with a degree in Technology and Human Resource Development. Leanne is married to Sheriff Chad McBride and has 3 beautiful daughters. She loves hanging out with her family & friends and being outdoors. She is a faithful member of Newspring church and enjoys serving others by meeting the needs of those around her. God speaks to Leanne through her prayer time with Him, and in taking time to appreciate the blessings around her. |
Marie Turner, Treasurer Marie Turner is a native of Anderson, SC and a graduate of TL Hanna High School and Clemson University. She and her husband David, a Product Line Manager with US Engine Valve in Westminster, SC, have five children. Marie spent 25 years in various accounting roles with Greenfield Industries, Inc. in Seneca, SC before accepting her current position of Director of Accounting with Kentwool, Inc., headquartered in Greenville, SC, in July 2015. Marie is a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson, SC where she teaches preschool Sunday School and sings in the Sanctuary Choir. She also serves on the Stewardship Committee. Outside of work and church, Marie enjoys spending time with her family, exercising at 9Round, reading and working in the yard. |
Eric Gurley, Board Member Eric Gurley lives in Starr, SC with his wife Amy and four beautiful daughters, Karra, Kaitlyn, Karlee and Kassidy. Eric is a lifelong entrepreneur building multiple successful companies since his early 20's. Currently, he owns and operates Cyber Solutions, a statewide IT firm as well as a digital marketing firm. Eric is a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Iva, SC where he currently serves on the deacon board as well as the personnel committee. Most of his spare time is spent with his family but he also enjoys fitness and hiking. |
Dr. Kristen Steely, Board Member Dr. Kristen Steely is a wellness consultant and chiropractor. She has been in practice for 18 years and is the owner of Anderson Wellness Center. Dr. Steely is passionate about getting sick people well and treats newborns to elderly at her wellness center. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, activities on the lake and traveling. |
Brandon Fortner, Board Member Brandon Fortner lives in Anderson, SC with his wife, Kelly, and their two daughters, Kendel and Bailee. Brandon has been employed by Santee Cooper for over 19 years and is currently a supervisor in operations for Santee Cooper’s Rainey Generating Station. He is an active member of NewSpring Church in Anderson, where he serves on the Care Team and on the lead team for Outreach. Brandon enjoys traveling with his family and is always ready for a new adventure! |
Stacey McAdams, Media Manager Stacey McAdams lives in Fenton, MO with her husband Morgan, their daughter Augusta, and their furbaby Hoot. She graduated from Byrnes High School in Spartanburg, SC. She then went on to pursue a degree in Graphic Design and Painting/Drawing from Anderson University in Anderson, SC, and a Masters in Teaching for Art Education from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. Presently, she is a high school art teacher and active artist, working in both design and fine art. In 2013 she illustrated her first children's book titled, "God's Amazing Creation from A - Z: A Scriptural Phonetic Approach to Reading." She enjoys creating, cooking, being outdoors, spending time with family and traveling. She is a member of Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church in Ballwin, MO. |
